Artist's Comments

I decided to color this piece to have in my portfolio at the Comic Convention. I'm not sure if I will make prints or not, don't know if people would want copies of this considering I don't have the book ready for it yet.

Now that the flat colors are laid down, I'm unsure whether to leave it like this, do cell style shading, airbrush it, or to possibly color the line work as well.
I'm thinking of not doing an airbrush style shading, simply because its a very child friendly look, and I think simple coloring and shading express that better than airbrushing.

Any thoughts?

Cell shading might be enough for this one.

...lol, I'm just pulling your leg.

I agree. Either cell or leave it as is.

Now that I see this like this, I am glad you did not simplify the tree asI had suggested. This is very good, Jesse.

Extended color or no, this piece is already quite nice.

Glad to say that "keeping up with the joneses" no longer means it's time to go see my dealer...

Yeah, I've got to agree - not much more (if anything) is needed on this. Looks great as is, and since you're going for a kid's book look, I wouldn't over-do it.

I'm thinking I might keep it as is, since several people have said they like it this way.
