I made a simple step by step tutorial for what I do when inking, hoping to give some people some ideas to try out for themselves.

Enjoy!

There's nothing like Higgins Black Magic Ink.

I actually went browsing at the local art store today. They had a bottle of this stuff called Witch's Brew. The clerk showed me it, and told me it was the most vile and blackest ink he has ever seen. I came home and asked a friend who is a pro inker about it. He said the stuff is toxic, and it yellows the page, stains, and goes right through bristol board like lava. :D
So I'll be sticking with my Higgins Black Magic. Another friend uses Sumi ink, which I might have to experiment with some day.

Oh wow. That's the hardcore ink. Higgins Black Magic ink works for me extremely well so far. But when coloring, I like to use Winsor and Newton inks. They've got unique colors, and they come in the cutest jars and boxes.

I really need to get a huge fanboy artboard.

I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior. If you do too and aren't scared to admit it then copy and paste this in your signature!

I loove Jack Davenport, one of the suavest, handsomest, most sincere actors ever. <3 :D

This is pretty helpful. I know there are different methods, and sometimes I wonder how artists get their lines to be so smooth and smudge-less. I guess regardless of how you do it, it's a painstaking method... unless of course you start with a digital drawing.

Nice job on this :)
When you get threw with your first bootle of ink, you won't need that lid for dipping any more.
Add 3 or 4 eyedroppers full to the old empty bottle and it should be the right height for dipping.
