11"x14" Strathmore Bristol Board, brushes, ink, Staedtler pens, blue pencil.

So, after staring wide-eyed at Francesco Francavilla's work for days, I think I am inspired to try a "Collage" comic page that he so elegantly executes. For those that don't know Francavilla, please check out his site: http://www.francescofrancavilla.com

This is my attempt at a Zorro page, I'm trying to recapture Mark of Zorro 1920, starring Douglas Fairbanks. Even the dialogue from the wanted poster is from the movie, but I've made it much prettier than they did in the film. I don't think they had much sense for design in props in those days, it looked quickly scrawled with a sharpie in the film.

Above, I had used a photo reference of an old Spanish mission. Below will be a panel of Zorro sneaking along the wall in the shadows.

I'm working on some thumbnails, trying to get what I want Zorro to look like just perfectly before lying a pencil to this page. I'm really digging how its coming along so far, I don't want to screw it up!

Any suggestions would be wonderful!
